When you are about to be a houseguest in the owner's absence, do you expect any special acknowledgement of your arrival?...I'm lucky to be staying somewhere that was lovingly prepared for me...
And I don't just mean clean sheets on the bed...no, I'm staying where the owner takes special pride in welcoming her guests...even when she's not going to be there...
First I found her dining table set with a place setting of her finest china, crystal and silver...then there was a sweet card including a note that contained every detail I could possibly need...
There were keys to everything I might conceivably use...even chocolates on my pillow...custom blended coffee, a beverage she doesn't even drink...plus, as you'll see from the images, one particularly thoughtful touch that has been greatly appreciated...
Oh, and my favorite note?..."There's some good whiskey and rye, a bottle of white port, as well as some locally distilled loganberry liquor...help yourself"...the encouragement being the most alluring part...
Then I opened the refrigerator to find a lovely bottle of Brut Rosé...with a note addressed to Charlie and me...I can only assume its for our upcoming anniversary...and, yes, I'm waiting to open it until I return home to my sweet husband...
I'm pretty sure being welcomed never gets any better than this...
